Mr Scott was trained in general ophthalmology within the Royal Air Force Medical Branch, Queen's Medical Centre Nottingham and Moorfields Eye Hospital London. He attained fellowship of both the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and was awarded a Postgraduate Doctorate of Medicine by the University of Nottingham Medical School. He currently performs his general ophthalmic clinics at the University Hospital Birmingham where he is a Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer. Mr Scott believes that a good grounding in General Ophthalmology is key to being an ophthalmic expert.

He has applied many modifications of general ophthalmic surgical and diagnostic techniques to enhance the results for his sub-specialist surgical retinal patients. He is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and has published several general ophthalmic papers in the peer-reviewed press.
